The Secret Life Of Robots
At Frederator in 2006, Lee Rubenstein and I concocted an idea to make a film with 15 directors and 1 theme. We wrote a list of topics on paper scraps and randomly matched them to some directors we liked. They all had to make a 10-second cartoon about robots dealing with these topics, using any technique they chose. Animation talent included Mukpuddy, Doogtoons, Jeaux Janovsky, as well as more than a dozen other filmmakers from five countries.
A few months later, it won the award for “Best Internet Cartoon” at the 2007 Platform Animation Festival in Portland… which we went to pick up and had a blast doing.Dude, that was one of the best times ever. Lets get together and dream up something like this again.
Dug every single one.
