Album sales were not down across all formats. LPs and vinyl albums were up by a whopping 89 percent
On a good setup, vinyl actually sounds a whole lot better than the exact same song played off a CD. It’s amusing but not terribly surprising that sales are up.
The benefits of vinyl are amazing! Most offer a coupon code to get an mp3 version of the album for free. Plus you get a large version of the artwork (and some extras depending on the release). I haven’t purchased a CD in over a year. It’s either been vinyl or digital.
